Mandrake is the primary antagonist in the 2013 animated film Epic. He is voiced by German actor Christoph Waltz. He and his men attack the Leafmen and their queen Tara, after she chooses her next heir. The Leafmen leader, Ronin, kills his son Dagda by shooting him with an arrow, but Mandrake shoots Tara and also kills her. Later, he interrogates Bufo, a gangster toad, to give him the location of M.K. (the film's heroine)and her friends. He is beaten by Ronin and Nod, a young soldier who had left earlier in the movie and he is eventually destroyed when he is imprisoned inside a tree.
Mandrake is ruthless, unkind and above all evil. He dislikes the fertility of the forest and cares for his son, Dagda. Following his death, he became consumed by revenge.
Mandrake has blue skin and yellow eyes. He sports a cape made out of bat skin.
Powers and AbilitiesEdit
Mandrake is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, has enhanced strength and agility, and power over the animals residing in his wasteland such as ravens, moles and bats. His staff can rot and kill anything living.
